COVID-19 makes us wheezy
Getting through this will not be easy
The choice is entrusted to us
But we still try to adjust
We don’t think that we live while others die
The rules we must abide by States reopened
Still, our nation is broken
They say we are in this together
But everyday we grow apart further
Doors shut
There is a sinking feeling in my gut
Say goodbye
With the orders we must comply
We don’t know when this will end
For now we have no contact with our friends
I hope I survive this
This experience I will not dismiss
I hope I will tell my story
And not turn into a memento mori
This is where I bid you farewell, my friend
For my story, this poem, has come to an end.
