The Yolo County Clerk Recorder’s office was shut down due to Covid-19 for just over a month, re-opening the last week of April to issue marriage licenses and perform wedding ceremonies on a limited basis, two days a week. We submitted our application for a license and Willie was nice enough to sneak us in quickly. We arrived in masks and gloves, as required; and my inlaws were allowed to attend the brief ceremony on April 30th in front of the old Courthouse here in Woodland, California. Willie didn’t have time to take care of the paperwork right then and had us come back on May 5th, 2020 to finish the marriage license applications and issue the paperwork. We have a small debate on when our anniversary is. I go with April 30th and my husband leans towards May 5th.
