“Epitaph”

March 31, 2020

You are done we are done

Never knew attachment could grow

In so short a time

But you waited day and night

Steadily and silently

White always white

I wanted you thick

And strong not thin

A solid satisfying roll

Now I must let you go

Release you to the bin

Put a replacement in

“EPITAPH” is a response to a friend’s challenge to write a poem during the early stages of “lockdown.” Inspiration struck of a morning. 🙂
